Abrasive belt wrinkling

Category:

Release time:2020-07-21

Once a sanding belt becomes wrinkled, it can no longer be used. Generally, there are three possible causes of belt wrinkling: First, the sanding roller and the tension roller are not parallel in their vertical projection; shims should be added at the central support cylinder to correct this alignment. Second, moisture absorption softens the belt, leading to wrinkling; drying or sun‑drying can be employed to address this issue. Third, if the sander remains idle for an extended period, rust may form on the roller surface, making it rough and causing the belt to wobble and wrinkle; in such cases, the rollers should be de‑rusted or lightly polished with fine‑grit sandpaper.
